Indiana, get ready! Basketball’s biggest summer party is coming your way. The WNBA All-Star weekend is just around the corner! For the first time ever, the Indiana Fever will play host to the league’s annual midsummer spectacle. It’s all going down at the legendary Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Mark your calendars for July 18 and 19 – it’s going to be two days of non-stop action and countless memories made.
The festivities kick off Friday night with the ever-popular Skills Challenge and 3-Point Contest, followed by the All-Star Game on Saturday night. The All-Star game, which is the crown jewel of the weekend, will not be reverting to the Team WNBA vs Team USA format. You know what that means, right? We will be once again getting two captains who will get to build their teams from scratch. So, who’s earned the honor of wearing that captain’s badge this year? Let’s check it out!

Who are the WNBA All-Star 2025 captains?
Well, for those who are used to watching A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart lead the teams since the inception of this format in 2018, we have some news for you! This year, things are about to change! Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier are all set to be the captains of the upcoming WNBA All-Star games!
Caitlin received the news via a phone call from Cathy Engelbert. “Caitlin, I just want to personally congratulate you on being named captain for the 2025 WNBA All-Star team,” Engelbert told her as CC was sipping water and the entire locker room burst into claps and cheers.
As for Collier, she got a full-blown celebration as her daughter scooted into the room on her tiny purple scooter, wearing a “Mama, you’re a All-Star” t-shirt. Sylvia Fowles was right behind her and made it clear that it was about time Collier got her flowers. “It’s really cool,” Collier said to reporters. “I went from never being a starter to captain.”

Caitlin Clark and Napheesa Collier both get to become captains for the first time! Clark gets to represent the East while Collier gets to represent the West. Wondering how many votes they got? Clark led the way with a mammoth 1,293,526 votes, while Collier closely followed with 1,176,020 votes. Notably, Clark topped the fan voting charts last season, but the All-Star format decided to go full Olympic mode, pitting Team USA against a bunch of WNBA standouts. So, no captains were there.
Both Clark and Collier get to build their team from scratch live on WNBA Countdown on July 8 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN! And for the draft, the Indiana superstar has a clear goal in mind! “Obviously, I’m going to try to get my teammates on my team. Why wouldn’t I?” Clark said. “That’s the goal, and once they come out with whoever has made it — I don’t really know how it works — but my first goal would be to have my teammates on my team.”
