The WNBA All-Star Game is known for producing plenty of entertaining moments. And the 2026 edition was no different. Fans got to witness Dominique Malonga throw down an in-game dunk, and Caitlin Clark knock down her signature logo bombs. But if you were to ask the fans which moment they would pick as the most hilarious one, they might point to a sequence involving A’ja Wilson and Angel Reese.

In the second quarter of the game, Reese had possession of the ball as Team Coop trailed by three points. So, looking to make a shot, the double-double Barbie rushed towards the rim to make a contested layup against Wilson. But her layup ended up with the ball in Wilson’s hands, who simply stood there and blocked the shot without even jumping. This moment left the Las Vegas Aces star covering her mouth in disbelief before she burst into laughter.
But what made this even funnier was when they went their separate ways. Reese accidentally tripped over her own foot, walking backwards, and tumbled to the floor, prompting both the crowd and A’ja Wilson to crack up once again.
“Oh no, Angel goes down now, and A’ja Wilson has to pick her up,” one broadcaster joked.
The relationship between Angel Reese and A’ja Wilson can be defined by the mutual respect they share for each other. Wilson has been one of Reese’s biggest supporters since the Atlanta Dream forward entered the WNBA. In fact, the four-time MVP has often referred to her as “young A’ja” because she sees her relentless mentality and competitiveness in the former LSU star.
“No matter what I do, I’m gonna make sure that I go all out and I give it 100 percent. And I saw that, just the motor that she has, I was like, ‘Oh yeah, that is young A’ja 100 percent,'” Wilson said in 2024.
And this admiration goes both ways.
“She’s been nothing but an inspiration to me; she’s been joyful to me, she’s always been somebody that I could call and be there for me. I just love that about her,” Reese said after her rookie season.
So on Saturday, that sequence was perhaps the best example of their bond yet.
While A’ja Wilson and Team Spoon eventually walked away with a 129-122 victory, it wasn’t the final score that left fans talking. Instead, it was Wilson’s priceless reaction, Reese’s accidental tumble, and the pair laughing the entire sequence off that ended up becoming one of the most memorable moments of the 2026 WNBA All-Star Game.
