The wait for Caitlin Clark’s first signature sneaker has been a long one. The guard signed with Nike in 2022 and is finally releasing a signature shoe on October 1, 2026. However, she isn’t the only Fever star who’ll be getting her first shoe, because her teammate Sophie Cunningham is set to get hers less than a year after signing with Adidas, and the fans are excited.

Even Cunningham had shared a similar post on her Instagram handle. According to the post, Cunningham’s shoe will be released on July 24 and is priced at $120. However, there’s one important distinction with Clark’s signature shoes.

While the Nike Caitlin 1 has been designed from the ground up with Nike in collaboration with Fever Guard, Cunningham’s is a PE colorway of an already existing shoe she prefers. But for Cunningham, this is a big milestone and indicative of her rising popularity among WNBA fans.

The initial reception of the shoe on social media is also a testament to that, as fans seemed quite excited for the upcoming exclusive colorway.

“Congratulations Sophie ❤️👏,” a fan remarked. “It’s so Sophie aura, pinkies but still thug 🔥,” another chimed in.

Another fan even pointed out the very core of Cunningham’s career that gave her so much prominence. As an Adidas athlete, she is part of a roster which includes prominent names such as her teammate Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Plum, and Satou Sabally. However, it’s her mannerisms on the court that have given her the tag enforcer.

The backstory behind it traces to how she comes in support of her teammates, especially Caitlin Clark. From the Jacy Sheldon incident last season to the DeWanna Bonner one a few weeks back, she came forward to support Clark

That’s why one fan suggested a new name for the shoes, calling it: “The Enforcer 1s.”

With the new shoes announced, Sophie Cunningham may debut them on the court once they hit the shelves later this month.
