Unrivaled action is back with a bang, and the defending champions look every bit like a team that can go back-to-back. Last year’s Finals MVP, Chelsea Gray, has picked up right where she left off, scoring 95 points at an average of 31.6 per game. But she’s not doing it alone. Lexie Hull has been a huge help, even if her impact tends to fly under the radar.

This season, Rose BC are without Angel Reese and Brittney Sykes, but the rest of the roster remains the same. Sug Sutton and Shakira Austin have stepped in for the duo, and Lexie Hull continues to set the gold standard for defense on this team. According to FeverStats, Hull is currently leading the league in steals.

That isn’t the case anymore with Brittney Sykes, now playing for Laces BC, grabbed 5 steals against Lunar Owls BC to jump to No. 1 in the league. Hull remains right behind her at No. 2 with 2.3 steals per game, which shows how vital she is to Rose BC.
Hull is averaging 7.6 points, 5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 2.3 steals per game this Unrivaled. And while Rose BC is often labeled as Chelsea Gray’s team because of the impact she has every night, Hull’s defense and her two-way game have quietly been a big part of Nola Henry’s system.
Naturally, fans have been raving about Lexie Hull ever since that tweet about her leading in steals dropped, and you’ve got to check out these reactions.

Fans Show Lexie Hull Some Well-Deserved Love
Indiana Fever fans in particular were quick to show Lexie some love. “That was what you’re known for with the Fever!” one fan said while looking at the steals stat. Another added, “Not a surprise to a Fever fan.” They know better than anyone how good Hull really is.

Hull appeared in all 44 games last season and started 30 of them, putting up career-high numbers of 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per night. She was initially expected to come off the bench, but she eventually replaced DeWanna Bonner in the starting lineup and made that spot her own. On top of that, it’s important to point out that Hull stayed healthy through a year where the Fever lost five players to season-ending injuries, including Caitlin Clark.
Hull’s reputation as a steal machine was on full display in the dying seconds of Game 3 of the first-round series against the Atlanta Dream, where she came up with the clutch steal that sealed the Fever’s first playoff series win since 2015. One fan summed it up perfectly, saying, “Swiper gonna swipe it 🦊.”

Hull has taken a massive leap over the past two years. She played with Athletes Unlimited in 2023 and finished eighth on the overall leaderboard while being named Defensive Player of the Year and Teammate of the Year. In 2024, she was once again named to the Athletes Unlimited All-Defensive Team. Last year with Rose BC, she averaged 6.4 points in 11.5 minutes per game, along with 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists.

And with the way she’s playing right now, it’s fair to say Rose BC could make another title run this season, especially after their 3–0 start. As one fan said, “It would be crazy if we have back-to-back in the first two years of this league.” While that remains to be seen, one thing everyone in the community will be keeping an eye on what comes next for her.
You see, Lexie Hull will be one of many players in the league headed for free agency as everyone prepares for a new CBA. When that arrives is still a big question mark, but whenever it comes, franchises will have the opportunity to pursue Hull, and she has the tools to be a major asset for any team.
But as one fan reminded everyone, “Good thing she’s not a UFA, we can match any offer.” Hull is a restricted free agent, so Indiana can match any contract another team throws her way. If they match, she stays. And it’s hard to see the Fever letting her walk if the money makes sense.
