At this point, rewriting the WNBA history books is becoming a habit for the Indiana Fever star guard Caitlin Clark. In just three seasons, she has shattered several league records. Just recently, she became the first player in the W to record 40+ PTS and 10+ AST in a game. But on Wednesday, Clark did something very few might have expected.

The 24-year-old became the first WNBA player to earn her own global NBA 2K cover as the NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition Cover Athlete, alongside Victor Wembanyama and Derrick Rose, who will headline the Standard and Ultra editions, respectively.
“NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition Cover Athlete 🤩 Congrats to Caitlin Clark on becoming the first WNBA player to be featured on her own global cover 🌎,” her team wrote on X.
The edition featuring Clark is set to launch worldwide on September 4 this year. On the cover, the Fever star can be seen holding the ball in her right hand while looking down the court, wearing her signature yellow Nike Caitlin 1s.
So the WNBA also celebrated the milestone with a post of its own, where they wrote, “She’s obsessed with the work 💭🏀 Caitlin Clark is your NBA 2K27 Deluxe Edition Cover Athlete.”
Now, the excitement isn’t just because Clark landed on an NBA 2K cover. It was because of which cover she landed on.
While players like A’ja Wilson, Angel Reese, Sabrina Ionescu, Diana Taurasi and Candace Parker have already made an appearance on NBA 2K covers before, each of them headlined the league-specific WNBA Edition. Caitlin Clark, however, is the first player to receive her own global cover as part of the franchise’s flagship release.
Her edition will retail for $99.99, while Wembanyama’s Standard edition will cost $69.99 and Rose’s Ultra Edition will cost $149.99. All three versions are scheduled to launch worldwide on the same day, and Clark is grateful to be on the cover.
“Being on the cover of NBA 2K27 is special because this game reaches fans all over the world. To be the first WNBA player on her own global cover means women’s basketball gets to show up on that stage too, and I am proud to be part of that,” the Fever guard said as per 2K.
With one of the biggest sports video game franchises in the world putting women’s basketball in the global spotlight, Caitlin Clark’s message about the game’s growth has never felt more fitting.
