Cameron Brink had no idea that her Paris Fashion week trip would turn into something so much more. At the Shangri-La Hotel in the City of Love, her then-boyfriend Ben Felter popped the question. “Yes, in every lifetime 🤍♾️,” she captioned the post, sharing black-and-white images from the special moment. Two years later to that proposal, Brink has revealed the unique way Felter first approached her.

Cameron Brink and Ben Felter were together at Stanford University. Felter was a computer science major, while Brink majored in Communications. Brink played basketball, while Felter was part of the rowing team, where he served as the team’s starboard. You would think they would have crossed paths at the university. Maybe they grabbed a drink at the local bar or Felter used social media for his first approach. He did, kind of.

Cameron Brink has revealed Felter used email for his first move. With the subject, “Attempting to Mingle,” Felter wrote, “Hey Cameron, Wanted to chat you up but I think dms are a bit creepy. Not that email is much better, so here is my number—Ben.” Obviously, Brink scribbled out the number while posting that screenshot on her TikTok.

She wrote along with the email screenshot, “this wasn’t supposed to be a love song…” That is in reference to the popular song “Suite: Jonny” by Faye Webster. In the next post she completed the lyrics, posting her photo with her now-fiancé sharing a kiss while writing, “but I guess it is now…” Brink captioned the post with, “Attempting to mingle.” 🥹🤣 I love that outlook brought us together lolol ❤️🔥❤️🔥 #couple #love”

Okay, to add more context, Brink revealed in one of her comment replies that the two were matched after an athlete dating survey at the university. Yet, the approach method from Felter was certainly interesting, to say the least.

Insert the Steph Curry shooting from the moon GIF. Anything that works, right? From an email to being engaged, it has been a long road. When Cameron Brink tore her ACL as a rookie, it was Felter who kept her upbeat and took care of her. “We’ve definitely grown. I don’t think we’ve been any closer in our relationship,” she told Women’s Health in January 2025.

When she tore her ACL in June, Ben “took care of me morning and night when I was hurt and unable to bear weight,” she says, looking after their puppy Olive at the same time. “I’m just so lucky to have him in my life,” she added. She returned to the court mid-2025 season and has been slowly coming back to her best. Brink is balling at Unrivaled with Felter in the stands. Naturally, this reveal from Brink is earning some reactions from her former and current teammates.

Angel Reese, Kiki Iriafen And Others React To Cameron Brink’s Email Revelation

When Cameron Brink is not playing basketball, she is busy planning her wedding. However, in April she revealed planning her bachelorette party takes precedence over the wedding. “It’s good. It’s so slow,” Brink told PEOPLE in April 2025 of the planning process, while noting, “The bachelorette [party] is first.” So of course, her inner circle had thoughts regarding Felter’s first approach.

Washington Mystics star and former Cardinal Kiki Iriafen responded with a simple GIF in which an emotional pug grips a smartphone in its tiny paws with tears in its eyes. “STOPPPP😭🥺😍,” Angel Reese wrote. “Ben is unintentionally funny, bro. 😭” Brink’s former Stanford teammate Nunu Agara wrote.  It’s apparent they approve of Brink’s fiancé.

We haven’t received any update regarding Brink’s wedding yet and the fans don’t even know the date. What’s clear is that her friends will play an important part in the wedding process. While wedding planning might be taking center stage off the court, Brink’s focus on it hasn’t wavered. She is averaging 10.9 points and 6.9 rebounds as Breeze BC head to the Unrivaled playoffs, facing Angel Reese’s Rose BC in the first round.
