Angel Reese has traded the basketball court for Hollywood scripts. After debuting as herself in the political thriller, A House of Dynamite, Reese was determined to take a legitimate shot at acting. “I want to get an acting coach,” she told People at the film’s New York Film Festival premiere. “I was talking to Common—he’s overseas right now shooting season 2 of Silo-and he was telling me, ‘You got to hire an acting coach.'” It seems that the training has immediately paid off as she has signed on to not one but two high-profile projects.

The Chicago Sky star first announced a cameo in Steph Curry’s ‘Goat’ film as Propp the polar bear, alongside her WNBA teammate A’ja Wilson, Caleb McLaughlin, Gabrielle Union, and more. Reese is giving her voice to the animated movie based on basketball. But now she is stepping into the Netflix world of drama, which topped the US Streaming charts at its peak.

Reese has been announced to appear on Season 2 of The Hunting Wives. “Bayou Barbie ➡️ Trainer Barbie Angel Reese joins the cast of The Hunting Wives in the co-starring role of “Trainer Barbie” 👀 Season 2 is now in production!” Netflix announced. Call it a prophecy or wishful thinking, Reese had joked regarding a possible role in season 2 while watching season 1. “[Not gonna lie] The Hunting Wives is a CRAZYYYY but good watch,” the Sky star wrote on August 4. Creator Rebecca Cutter replied to thank Reese for watching, to which the basketball star cheekily told Cutter to “just let me know if you need me for season 2.”

Now that she has officially snagged the ‘Trainer Barbie’ role, Reese looked back at that post fondly. “I literally manifest my entire life 🥺,” She wrote. Reese already gave the fans a glimpse from the set. She posted a couple of pictures on her IG stories, sitting in front of the trailer in a sporty look featuring a green collared polo with a bold yellow “DU” logo. It was paired with fitted black leggings and Black athletic sneakers. The exact outfit a fashionable trainer would wear.

Angel Reese has been busy this offseason, from shoots in Barbados along with a London tour at the NBA game, Reese is enjoying her life away from basketball. Notably, she decided to skip Unrivaled after winning the title last year. The only basketball the fans have seen Reese playing was at the Team USA camp back in December.

She might also be a part of the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in March. And her off-court pursuits are certainly working out as she steps further up on the ladder as an actress. And just when fans thought her offseason couldn’t get any busier, Reese added another major stop to her world tour

Angel Reese’s Australia Stop Confirmed After NBL Announcement

Angel Reese’s AR1s were flying off the shelves when they were released back in September last year. Recognizing the international demands as well, Reese had announced a World Tour of sorts. “I’m going to take it worldwide,” She said. “I plan on going to, like, a world tour. I haven’t been overseas much, so I want to go overseas. And I know I have a lot of fans in Australia, Tokyo, and Europe. So, I’m excited to go overseas and kind of show that off.” So far, Reese has been to Barbados and London as far as the fans know. Now her Australia stop has been confirmed by this NBL announcement.

“In collaboration with the NBL’s Official Footwear Partner of the League, Reebok, one lucky winner will have the chance to meet WNBA star for the Chicago Sky, Angel Reese,” the National Basketball League based in Australia announced. It further mentions a 500 Reebok voucher and includes flights and accommodation in Melbourne. Reese will likely promote her AR1s in the country as well, considering Reebok is the primary sponsor of the league.

The dates of when Reese will touch down in Australia are unknown, but it’s on the calendar for sure. Since Reese is already in the UK, the Australia leg could be further down the line after she visits a few European cities. In any case, the Chicago Sky Star is blending tourism with work. A smart move that gives her some rest after a hectic season while spiking her off-court stocks.
