The 2025 WNBA season was one of the most unforgiving seasons ever for the Indiana Fever. With the franchise players falling like bowling ball pins to the ball of injuries, Natasha Howard took the responsibility of being a veteran to carry the team’s spirit forward. Now, with the offseason going on, Howard is still making moves, and this time, her impact extends to a high school team.

The WNBA veteran star recently spent time assisting a Mississippi high school basketball program, gifting the players the Kobe V Protro Caitlin Clark edition sneakers, priced at $190. The locker room moment quickly turned into a highlight when one of the players recorded a clip of the entire team lacing up the shoes before their game and posted it to their Instagram story. Howard reposted the video with a simple but proud caption: “🫡💙.”

The shades of the sneakers reflect the colors of the Fever and are described as “Midnight Navy, Bright Crimson, vibrant hits of University Gold, and polished off with a high-gloss finish that glistens under the spotlight,” as per Nike’s official site.

Howard is making the most of her offseason to stay engaged with basketball at every level. However, post the 2025 season, she has become an unrestricted free agent, and whether she will join the Indiana Fever to play alongside Caitlin Clark again or  even play in the league at all remains in the gray area.

“Free agency, I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m not trying to think about that right now. I’m going to dissect everything from this season. … When that time comes, you guys will know,” Howard said in an interview after wrapping up the previous season.

But as her decision remains uncertain, it’s not just her making strides during the offseason, as Caitlin Clark joins the LPGA’s The Annika Pro-Am to play alongside golf superstars Annika Sörenstam and Nelly Korda once again.

Caitlin Clark swaps courts in the off-season

Caitlin Clark continued her busy offseason by taking part in The Annika Pro-Am on Wednesday, teaming up with Korda, Lauren Nguyen, Dan Towriss, and Jordan Jackson. The Fever superstar brought her competitive energy to the fairway, though her team finished tied for 36th with a -11 score, outpacing only four other teams.

Her teammates, Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull, also joined the event as guest caddies for the player and shared moments that had everyone busting out in laughter. After getting injured in her WNBA season, Clark is making the most of her off-season. From practising for the event at Michael Jordan’s The Grove XXIII, to nearly slamming her club after a wayward drive after a bad shot, to hitting a long-distance putt from about 35 feet out.

However, while fans loved to see their star back in action even on a different court, they can’t wait to see her swishing deep-3’s, making jaw-dropping plays, and dominating the league in the 2026 WNBA season.
