The anticipation around Caitlin Clark’s signature shoe is buzzing. Just a few days back, Nike officially unveiled the official look of the Caitlin 1 while Clark doubled down on the excitement by donning it against the Atlanta Dream. Now, leaked visuals from a holiday-themed colorway of Clark’s shoes have surfaced on social media, prompting the fans to take notice.

As per a sneaker page @justfreshkicks on X, Nike is planning to launch a Grinch colorway of the Caitlin 1, a Christmas-themed shoe, later this year.
Per official confirmation, Caitlin Clark’s signature shoe will be released on October 1 and available on the Nike SNKRS app. Clark had already shown the “racer blue” colorway during the Atlanta game a few days back, where she scored 26 points and 7 assists. It shows a vibrant, deep blue edition with cool ‘C’ patterns near the shoe’s tongue.
A few days back, Clark herself gave a nuanced feature of Caitlin 1 shoes. “The fact that the outside part is C’s and the inside part is 2’s,” Clark said as per WNBA.com. “But you can only tell it close up.”
Furthermore, Clark’s shoe is also said to feature short text messages like “Shoot More Threes” and “From Anywhere”. The tone of these messages reflects Clark’s stellar three-point shooting skill set. Meanwhile, reports suggest that the Clarks’ signature shoes will have multiple variants releasing in 2026 and 2027, per Athlon Sports.
According to a report from the JustFreshKicks website, the Caitlin 1 will also have an all-black pair in its disposal. And the Grinch holiday-themed shoes might be another edition of Caitlin Clark’s signature shoes.
The fans have shared a mixed reaction to it. Some fans are absolutely loving the sneaker’s slim design, while others have echoed sentiments unrelated to the sneaker.
Connection to Kobe 6 Grinch Edition and Availability Issues Revolve Around Caitlin Clark’s Leaked Colorway
“Sadly, Nike will never make enough shoes to sell to everyone, so prepare to pay $500 plus from resellers. How hard is it to make a ton of shoes so everyone who wants them can buy them without leaches trying to make money off things they don’t own it’s ridiculous these day,” a fan wrote.
“I don’t even watch basketball, men’s or women’s. But I’d buy these. F*** yeah, I would,” stated another.
From an exterior look perspective, the design looks quite unique. The rich green texture with C patterns on the outside gives the shoe a perfect and wearable sneaker for the coming holiday. Furthermore, given CC’s fandom in the hoops community, the sales will automatically rise upon its launch.

The pricing of the shoe is also quite decent at $140, considering it’s a signature shoe. But the limited availability of these colorways can be an issue for large orders. It will force some buyers to go to secondary websites, where they will largely have to pay much higher prices for the same shoes. This is what these two comments were trying to convey.
“This would be dope, but still doesn’t touch the Kobe’s,” remarked another.
For context, the Nike Kobe 6 Protro series also included a “grinch” edition. One of the fans even compared Clark’s leaked Grinch edition to that shoe. The exterior color is pretty similar to the Clark 1, but the intricate detailing, like the C patterns, isn’t present in the Kobe 6 Protro series.
Nevertheless, Clark herself has been a big admirer of the Nike Kobe series and has worn it regularly throughout most of her WNBA career. Notably, she even donned the Grinch edition during her debut regular-season game for the Indiana Fever back in 2024.
“The media has painted her to be the Grinch. This is poetic,” chimed in another.
“Stephanie White is the Grinch,” summed up another.
To be honest, the animated image in the X post isn’t showcasing Caitlin Clark as the Grinch. From a viewer’s perspective, it kind of seems like a caricature of the holiday-themed shoes. Furthermore, it’s important to understand that it’s just a regular colorway of Caitlin 1 and has no logical connection to her on-court stuff.
Of course, the media has curated several false narratives between Clark and Stephanie White this season. But they are parallel to CC’s signature shoe colorways. Nevertheless, the upcoming few months are going to be immensely special for Caitlin Clark because she is soon going to be a part of an elite group of WNBA athletes with signature shoes.
