Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark was in attendance for another Butler University game! Thanksgiving dinner took the backseat as Clark surrounded herself with the people she loves at the Bulldogs game. It wasn’t just her boyfriend Connon McCaffrey there. The whole of Clark family made it to the Mullett Arena and as usual, Butler Bulldogs’ good luck charm helped them sail through.

In the opening match of a two-game stint at the Arizona Tip-Off tournament, the Butler Bulldogs, with a 5-1 record, dominated the 5-2 Wildcats by 71-69. To celebrate the big win, Clark, joined by her brothers on the right and parents on the left, was as ecstatic as always. All of them raised their hands high when the buzzer sounded.

Within minutes, the family’s reaction went viral, though it wasn’t something the Wildcats desired. In fact, the opponents seemed a bit off, especially #13 Brooks Barnhizer, who was left teary-eyed. His reaction was expected, as the Wildcats’ standout attempted a shot in the last few seconds of the game but missed. He had the time and made the attempt, which, if successful, could have forced the game into overtime. But it never came, giving the Clark family a reason to celebrate.

It’s not the first time Clark has brought someone to accompany her at Butler games, where her boyfriend, McCaffery, is an assistant coach. Whether it’s Aliyah Boston, Lexie Hull, or even Tyrese Haliburton’s girlfriend, she has been accompanied by them all.

This time, however, was quite special

Attending the Butler game would mean missing the Thanksgiving dinner. So Clark found a middle way around: she brought her whole family—her brothers Blake and Colin, and her parents Brent and Anne—to the arena to watch McCaffery coach while his younger brother played, who ended the evening with 10 points, 3 rebounds, and an assist.

“We were always involved in sports and at home we were always around sports,” shared Blake in an interview with the Cedar Rapids Gazette. “We watched sports at night, whether we would go to Drake and watch basketball games, or watch cousins play their basketball games or tournaments. When you’re just around something that much, it’s what you do, too.” he added.

Being from a sports family has always been a boon for Clark. When she was young, her father Brent coached her, while her mother supported her. With her brothers also interested in sports, it’s clear why the family took a trip to Tempe.
