The list published in X ranks Breanna Stewart as the best player to come out from NCAAW in the last 10 years as opposed to the popular choice Caitlin Clark. Despite breaking the NCAA scoring record in her last season with Iowa, the Indiana Fever star finds herself in the number second spot.
But is it really that controversial of a choice? Breanna Stewart’s resume practically screams greatness, a 3x National Player of the Year, 4x Final Four Most Outstanding Player, 2x WNBA MVP, 3x NBA Champion and oh yeah, an NCAA champion every single year she played. Her achievements don’t just speak for themselves, they shout from the rooftops!

One name that would have been higher on the list if not for injuries is Paige Bueckers, the star senior guard for the UConn Huskies. As a freshman, Bueckers was a revelation, averaging 20 points and 5.7 assists per game while leading UConn to the Final Four. She shattered program records for assists by a freshman and single-game assists, setting the stage for what seemed like a legendary career in the making. But fate had other plans. A series of devastating knee injuries have derailed her journey, keeping her from fully realizing the superstar potential she flashed in her rookie season.
Rising stars like Hannah Hidalgo and JuJu Watkins have made their way on this list, and some would argue they fully merit being on it. Both JuJu and Hannah are averaging 24+ points and 6+ rebounds per game in their sophomore season, they have the talent and drive to challenge the NCAA scoring records currently held by Caitlin Clark. But the question remains, is there truly no one better than these young guns who’ve just laced up their sneakers to play college ball?
