

Nowadays, pets are loved as unconditionally as a child in a family. Not only that, people around the world now consider their pets as their children. World number 51 Alycia Parks would be one such person. Parks recently uploaded a video on Instagram of her new family member, who is a puppy.
Alycia Parks is a 22-year-old WTA player who currently holds the 51st position in the WTA rankings. In doubles, she has a ranking of 52. But right now, she is making news for other reasons.

Alycia Parks has a new family member
Parks recently uploaded a story Instagram about a new family member in her life. However, she explicitly refers to the new puppy as her ‘daughter’. Many would believe that she actually had a daughter after hearing this news. But, the new family member in the Parks family is a dog.

The puppy seems to be a Jack Russell Terrier, who is nestled into Parks’ lap. She captioned the video she uploaded as “My Daughterr🙂“.
The video first shows the two together, then she pans the camera downwards to show her viewers her puppy. Parks uploaded another story on her Instagram account, which also shows the puppy in her lap.

However, in this video, Parks is talking to her puppy, who looks up at her for a few seconds.
How Parks’ mother helped her shape her career?
In an interview with the WTA, the world number 51 talked about how she started her journey of becoming a tennis player. In the interview, she said that her mother played a prime role in helping her to become a strong tennis player. The story starts when the young American player was in school. She said that after she got As in school, her mother let her play tennis and bought her a racquet as a reward for her efforts.

After years of effort, Parks has become a top 100 players in the WTA. She is the second American player to beat a player in the top 10 when she was not in the top 100. A feat achieved by none other than Serena Williams prior to Parks. After ranking 51, Parks will now aim for the top 10 in WTA.
