Chris Evert On Serena Williams

In a recent interview with Ubitennis. Chris Evert was asked a lot of questions. One of those questions was about why Serena Williams has not equaled the Grand Slam record after having 4 opportunities to do so. She replied by saying,

“First of all, in those 4 losses, those 4 women played out of their minds… All 4 of those women, went out there with nothing to lose. Serena obviously felt the pressure and she didn’t play her best because of the pressure but we have still seen her win when she’s not at her best. But these girls were playing so well that they took the match from her.”

Serena is going to become 39 this year and some feel that because of her age she may not win another Slam. However, Chris Evert feels different as she said,

“Look, I would never count Serena out. When people say ‘Do you really think she is going to win?’, I go, ‘Why not?’ I saw an Instagram post of Serena working out and she looks in great shape. As long as she keeps the inspiration up like as long as she keeps wanting it, you have to give her a great shot at winning one more.”
