Rick Macci was the first coach for the sisters after their father Richard Williams. He has seen them right from where they started and knows them better than any other coach they have had. He recently posted on his Twitter channel about the sisters and how their father has cultivated in them a trait that is inspired by the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali.
His tweet said, “The number one Competitive message I loved from my best friend the Compton Crusader Richard Williams was that he peppered to the girls the ALI Playbook. Us against the world Mentality and the art of Intimidation. The Walk the Talk the Stare so the opposition is Aware.”

If you are a true Serena or Venus fan, you would know that amidst all that success, the sisters have had their fair share of fall-downs as well. But this attitude of them is what kept them going ahead, getting up, and moving on. That is where their never-die attitude comes from and it clearly shows.
Rick Macci has always shown trust in the sisters only because of the kind of traits they have had right from the start. He even went on to invest in them more than $92,000 back in their childhood which was a financial risk for him at the time.

Rick Macci went all in for the Williams sisters right from the start
The world-famous coach always had amazing assumptions about the success the sisters were going to have. Because he saw how Richard brought them up and embedded in them the ‘Ali Playbook’. Owing to the same, he took a big financial risk as well for his sisters by getting them a motor home which cost him somewhere around $92,000 which was double the price of his own car.
If he had not seen in them the potential to be wonder kids at the time, he would have never gone to such lengths. And the results in front of us all. Williams sisters definitely owe a big chunk of their success to their first-ever coach.
