Serena Williams is the second most marketable athlete of the year

The list of the 50 most marketable athletes of the year was recently announced by SportsPro 50MM. Tennis stars are having a fantastic year. The 23-time Grand Slam champion, Williams is the second most marketable athlete in the world, right behind soccer legend and Manchester United star forward, Cristiano Ronaldo. The 23-time Grand Slam champion ranks above the likes of legendary athletes like Tom Brady, LeBron James, and Lionel Messi

She comes in second with a score of 67,99, and Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time Formula One Champion, comes in third with a score of 64,58. The ranking list has many women athletes, as the four-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one Naomi Osaka, who hasn’t had the best year on the court, ranks sixth with a score of 51,62.

Despite the fact that she was unable to defend her title at the US Open this year, Emma Raducanu, the 2021 US Open champion, is number 12 on the list. She is followed by Simona Halep, at 15th.

The big three also made it to the clan

The Spanish player, Rafael Nadal, is the only male tennis player who made it to the top 20. He is in the 16th place, after enjoying a significant year on the tour. The Spaniard won two major titles this year, taking his Grand Slam tally to 22. But he is not alone. All the members of the big three made it to the top 50, holding different ranks.

Along with Serena, there is another retired tennis player on the list. The Swiss Maestro, Roger Federer, strongly holding down the 23rd spot on the rankings.
