Although tennis is known for its discipline, there have been several incidents during the sport’s history that have marred its legacy. Take for example this year. At the last month’s Wimbledon Championships, a group of protestors stormed the court and interrupted Grigor Dimitrov’s match. It caused further delays as some matches were already affected by rain. Recently, another such incident about fan behavior was brought to light by Serena Williams’ former coach, Rennae Stubbs.

The 52-year-old served as the American legend’s coach at the 2022 US Open. Serena, playing in the final tournament of her career, managed to reach the third round of that tournament. Earlier today, Stubbs revealed Andre Agassi’s wife, Steffi Graf’s relation to her shocking incident.

Serena Williams’ former coach was called Steffi Graf

American tennis sensation, Coco Gauff, initiated a discussion on Twitter where she talked about being called by fans with other players’ names. Gauff, who is in Canada to participate in the National Bank Open, wrote, “I sign autographs as myself but occasionally I am somehow also signing as Sloane, Venus, Serena, Taylor, Alycia, and yesterday I got Leylah for the first time lollll.”

Replying to her Tweet, Stubbs shared her incident about facing a similar experience during her playing days. She told, “A bunch of drunks called me Steffi Graf once and to be honest, I ran with it!” On the other hand, Stubs also said that she’s often called Alicia Molik in her native country.
