Fans of the series were shaken when they learned that Sam Neill, who plays Alan Grant, received some bad news about his health a while back. However, he had good news in store not only for fans of the series, but also for fans of tennis.

Sam Neill was a part of the original trilogy of Jurassic Park. But the actor wasn’t able to stay away from the series for long as he returned in the third installment of Jurassic World.

Sam Neill plays tennis after being in remission 

The Jurassic Park actor was diagnosed with cancer in March 2022. He first experienced swollen glands while he was promoting Jurassic World: Dominion. After getting it checked properly later, he found out that he had a rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But the New Zealand native has been in remission for quite some time, “I’ve been in remission for eight months, which feels really good.”

The actor has not only gotten back to work, but he has also started playing tennis. In an interview with Newshub, he said that he felt quite good and had just come back from tennis lessons before the interview. “I’m feeling really good and I’m back at work. I just came back from tennis lessons. That’s how good I am. Things are great. Good to be back at work.”

When other celebrities stepped up to play tennis

In 2020, when everyone in their world was locked in their homes, Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka had other plans. The two players, along with several other organized the first virtual tennis tournament. They set the tournament on Nintendo Switch in the game Mario Party. Williams teamed up with Gigi Hadid and Osaka partnered with Steve Aoki. There were eight teams in total.
