Recently, he was knocked out of the tournament after suffering a defeat to Tomas Machac in the third round. While the match started off in a prominent position for the 36-year-old tennis star, he sprained his ankle at the very moment when he was playing the tiebreaker round with his opponent.

But even after everything, he kept going and played a three-hour-long match, displaying his fighting side on the court. After the match, the 20-year-old tennis player’s coach took to his Twitter account to share thoughts about how playing long matches is something the British tennis player can do the best.

He wrote, “Sir Muzzard and 3 hr @atptour matches no one plays more of these the last few years.”

Murray playing long hours of tennis is something that tennis fans enjoy the most. Moreover, it also highlighted the former British number one’s devotion to tennis: even after facing an injury during the game, because of which he was left in pain, he continued the match and gave his 100 percent.

On the other hand, even after playing a 3-hour match, it was quite heartbreaking for Murray to walk out of the court with a defeat and an injury at the same time. Subsequently, his opponent also opened up about how it was difficult to achieve victory against the Brit.

Tomas Machac outlines his thoughts on going up against Murray 

After defeating the three-time Grand Slam champion in a 3-hour and 27-minute-long match, the 23-year-old tennis player came a long way. Despite turning the table, Tomas Machac opened up about his thoughts on facing a long match against one of his toughest competitors, who has played and won long tennis matches.

He stated, “It’s always a pleasure to share the court with such a great legend. So first of all, I’m happy that I can play this long match against him. But on the opposite, I don’t want to play so long! But at the end, there was everything… I pushed myself from the bottom to manage to win today.” Along with that, he also highlighted how, even after playing against such a popular face, he pushed himself to the very beginning to get victory in the end.
