Spanish tennis player Carla Suarez Navarro recently gave her take in the GOAT debate and presented her views on it. Unsurprisingly, she spoke in favor of the Swiss Maestro.

However, she didn’t exactly mention him as the best tennis player in history. Nonetheless, that did not let her stop her from acknowledging the role he has played in changing the sport.

The Swiss Maestro has not just won 20 Grand Slam titles, he has changed the face of the game. Federer brought immense popularity to tennis, making it one of the most followed sports in the world. Former Spanish tennis player, Carla Suarez Navarro, in an interview with AS said, “Every person who loves sports loves Roger Federer. That is his legacy.” However, she did not back away from stating her honest views regarding the GOAT debate. She said, “To say that he is the best ever is a common debate and is complicated.”

Nonetheless, she acknowledged the contribution of the player and stated, “What is clear is that he changed tennis today. And the sport.” Furthermore, she also talked about tennis players emulating his style while playing. Navarro stated, “When you want to practice one, whatever it is, you want to do it like him, with that elegance, without sweating, as if it didn’t cost him. “

The GOAT debate is not something unheard of.
