Notably, Gilkes and the tennis star were dating since 2018. The two got engaged after the former world number one announced her retirement from the sport.
Sharapova’s last tournament
The five-time Grand Slam champion competed in her last match as a wildcard at the 2020 Australian Open. She was defeated right away in the first round. In the first round of the competition, Donna Vekic defeated the Russian star, who then announced her retirement from tennis.
