Well, to celebrate 50 years since the moment that literally changed the face of women’s tennis, $21 billion worth Adidas took a step forward to pay a glowing tribute at the US Open in the most interesting manner.

Adidas prepares a beautiful tribute for Billie Jean King 

Adidas Tennis is all set to celebrate the 12-time Grand Slam champion at the US Open by bringing in women-specific Avacourt footwear and a full set of inspired outfits, taking inspiration from King. While the epic ‘battle of the sexes’ match in 1973 in which King defeated Bobby Riggs is something that nobody can forget.

According to the popular apparel company’s reports, they recently launched their newest FW23 New York collection, which apparently celebrates 50 years since the time the former tennis legend won the Battle of the Sexes and scripted a new start for the WTA.

While the whole collection is specifically made in blue, the color also holds significant importance. Baby blue was the major color for her signature Adidas sneakers, which somewhere made her famous 50 years ago. Subsequently, the collection consisted of a 12-piece set in which the sporting brand introduced the SST Jacket for both men and women.

Along with that, also bought the famous Avacourt shoes back in fashion but with a refreshing look. The jacket is inspired by the Classic tennis tracksuit from the time when the 79-year-old tennis legend was at the peak of her career, changing the perspective of the sport.

Nevertheless, Another American tennis player who is making her way into the arena, Jessica Pegula, was among the first few tennis players who spoke on this doting tribute.

During the US Open, the collection will be worn by tennis athletes, including Jessica Pegula, Maria Sakkari, Elina Svitolina, Karolína Muchová, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Felix Auger Aliassime, and Martin de la Puente. And recently, after getting this amazing opportunity, the 29-year-old American tennis star, in a conversation with the apparel brand, revealed her feelings regarding the tribute.
