As her shocking reaction to Rod Laver‘s presence has been going around, a similar incident comes to light, that took place a few years ago, when she was just 18.

Back when she won her sixth title, she gave everyone an ‘I don’t know’ moment that is definitely a hilarious memory. In 2021, after winning the Macha Lake Open, during an on-court interview, she was asked about the previous champion of the tournament who won in 2019.

To which she replied, “I saw the picture [in a poster], but I don’t know the girl.” Not only that but when the reporter detailed about Barbora Krejčíková, the previous champion of the tournament, Zheng was left in shock as she realized the fact that she didn’t remember her, even though she had won a French Open title.

Moreover, while a lot of tennis players remember the popular names regarding the things going on in the tennis world, Zheng, on the other hand, has her priorities quite clear. Recently, when she had a similar moment with the Australian tennis legend, and she explained her stand regarding her ‘I don’t know’ comment.

Although her responses have given the tennis world reasons to laugh out loud, she, on the other hand, is always shocked and surprised by herself. While the 21-year-old tennis player played the quarter-final match; she had a special guest in the arena, Rod Laver, the Australian tennis legend himself.

She said, “Of course, I know the guy, but I didn’t know he was watching. I focus on the green ball only and on the opponent.” Well, she was not aware of his presence, and her shocking response created chaos in the tennis world. But at the same time, left everyone confused regarding whether she knew him or not.

Subsequently, just after that, Jelena Dokic told her that she would be in the top 10 after the tournament. Interestingly, Zheng gave a similar response to this and highlighted that she was not aware of a lot of things.
