Emma Raducanu has made her comeback with the 2024 tournament season this year after sustaining a year of injuries in the past. She underwent multiple wrist and hand injuries which made her sit out for a lot of matches in the initial stages of her career. However, now that she is back, Raducanu has given a great performance at the ASB Classic in Auckland.

And now she will be having her first match at the Australian Open on Monday. Recently Raducanu decided that she will not be participating in a lot of exhibition matches so she can stay injury-free. Amid criticism, her decision was backed by a former pro tennis player.

Tim Henman in an interview with Euro Sport talked about how this decision might be right for her. “Raducanu is a very good tennis player. She now is hopefully building that foundation to do herself justice so that she doesn’t get injured. It’s more about the physical resilience, and she can build up confidence and the physicality in her body so that she can play week in, week out, and not have setbacks physically and not get those injuries.

It looks like Tim Henman also feels that Raducanu should sit out the matches this year so she can completely regain her strength and be at the top of her game. Raducanu in an interview also revealed how she is very much looking forward to playing in Melbourne and bouncing back after her off-season.
