Following an Ill-Fated US Open, Minister of Happiness Ons Jabeur Gets Back to Her Smiling Best as She Touches Mexico With Sky High Feeling

World no. 2 Ons Jabeur suffered a sudden wave of illness during her US Open campaign this year. With high temperatures and humidity levels, a lot of the players in the tournament found it tough to give their best. But for Jabeur it became overwhelming as she had to be rushed for medical aid from the court.

Her ill start to the US Open, however, did not stop her from reaching the 4 round of the tournament. After having to deal with adverse health issues, she is finally back in form to give her best performance once again at the GDL Open.

Ons Jabeur makes it back to the court for the GDL Open

Jabeur had a fall down at the US Open due to some medical conditions. The on-court doctors analyzed her for an issue with the blood pressure, which got worse because Ons also suffers from a history of asthma.

In addition, due to severe weather conditions, she failed to make it through the set. Despite that, she came back on the court and continued to play, and even continued throughout the tournament. And now she is going to be competing in the GDL Open in both the singles and the doubles categories.

Her first match is against Olivia Nicholls and Alicia Barnett. She will have Peyton Stearns as her doubles partner. Jabeur’s fans were really worried about her when she was taken into emergency medical aid, but now are eagerly waiting for her to be back on the court.

However, Jabeur was not the only one who got sick at the US Open. Many other players felt the heat and suffered from excessive dehydration and humidity issues. But what is the exact reason for so many players getting sick at the US Open?

What caused players to get sick in the US pen 2023?

Ons Jabeur had flu-like symptoms before the tournament and playing under severe weather conditions made it worse for her. Besides her, Dominic Thiem also fell ill in his second round and had to retire. He mentioned later that he had gotten some stomach-related issues.

Not just players, but legendary commentator at the US Open, John McEnroe, also mentioned that he tested positive for Coronavirus after coming back from the tournament. Even though the virus has been almost eliminated in most parts of the world, it continues to haunt the US. And in the later summer wave, this has become extremely dangerous, especially where there is such a huge gathering.
