Last year, the tennis realm bid farewell to two stalwarts of tennis, Roger Federer and Serena Williams. Once again, this year, the US Open saw the farewell of one of its seasoned tennis stars, John Isner. The former world No.8 had an emotional farewell after he bid farewell to his tennis career in the second round of the US Open. However, his legacy stays alive. As wishes started pouring in for the tall American, Isner’s compatriot Madison Keys opened up about a private conversation she had with the tennis star.
Keys opened up about the legacy that Isner has left behind that’ll undoubtedly inspire young players. She also talked about Isner’s plans after retirement, which they discussed in a private conversation.

Madison Keys opens up about the retirement plan of John Isner
Isner, who finally rested his racquet after a seasoned career of 17 years, had a candid conversation with Madison Keys. The WTA tennis star opened up about Isner’s plans in her post-match conference.
She stated, “I’ve known John for a really long time.” Keys confessed how she huddled up with around 15 other people in front of the TV to watch his match before she had to be on the court. She continued. “He’s obviously had a phenomenal career and I’m going to be really sad to see him go.”

Then she disclosed his plans for the future, which came out in a candid conversation. Keys stated, “But I was talking to him the other day, and he was very excited to get home.”
Tennis is a strenuous sport, however, for Isner, something more tiring is waiting at home. Keys conveyed, “He said he’s going to be more tired than ever now having all four of his kids all of the time.”
So, one thing is clear; Isner is not going to relax after retiring. However, to bid farewell to one’s career is difficult. Hence, Isner’s emotions were overwhelmed him during his farewell.

Isner lets out his teary emotions during his farewell
The American tennis star bid goodbye to a loving home crowd after he lost to compatriot Michael Mmoh in the second round of the US Open. During his post-match interview, he stated, “I’d like to think that I worked as hard as I (could).” Before he could finish his speech, he was overwhelmed by his emotions.

An emotional farewell is justified, considering the commendable legacy that he has built during the most dominant era of men’s tennis.
