The talk about who is the best with a certain technique is a discussion that will never end between sports fans. It is one of the never ending debates along with the best player of all time in a sport. Along with followers of the sport, several social media outlets dedicated also rank players on different lists. The reaction to such ranks is either outrage at the exclusion or delight at the inclusion of some players. One coach is on the former side. Rennae Stubbs, former coach of Serena Williams, spoke out about a list she vehemently refutes.

Ex-coach of Serena Williams disagrees with ranks handed out

Tennis.com recently posted on Twitter about a top 200 list. The website ranked the top 200 player with the best single handed backhand. They included many players such as Dominic Thiem, Richard Gasquet, Ken Rosewall and Stan Wawrinka. They later revealed Roger Federer at second place and Justine Henin at first place.

However, the list was not well received by many users on Twitter. Serena William’s former coach Rennae Stubbs was a part of the crowd. She disagreed with the list and added that they missed one important name in the list. As per Stubbs, the list should’ve included Steffi Graf since they added Ashleigh Barty.

She was even outraged at premise that Barty had a better backhand slice than Graf. She even disputed that Arthur Ashe, who was on the list, had a two handed backhand instead of a one handed backhand. “AND how can u not have Graf on here when u have Barty!?? You’re telling me Barty slice was better then Steffis?? AND Ash had a two hander, not a one hander.

Stubbs continues her argument about the top two

Rennae Stubbs is active on Twitter with her opinions. She further discussed who the top two could be. A user replied to her to say that maybe Federer and Graf were rank 1 and 2. Stubbs thought otherwise.

She said that the top two positions would most likely go to Federer and Justine Henin. She further said that not to have one of the greatest players of all time is a shame. Stubbs is a passionate tennis personality and it shows in how she relays her message on social media.
