The infamous Madrid blackout still lingers in fans’ minds, especially if you recall the cheeky social media exchange between Aussie ace Alex de Minaur and British ace Katie Boulter. When Alex posted about the power outage, Katie hilariously responded, “Imagine blaming a country blackout for not texting me back all day. Elite (red flag) behaviour.” The moment, dripping with playful banter, had fans reminiscing about their serendipitous hotel lobby meeting that sparked their romance. A few days later, while the couple enjoyed some off-court downtime, Alex shared his love for cars, prompting Katie to once again steal the spotlight with her sharp, perfectly timed humor. Curious what the Brit said this time? Let’s just say, when it comes to laughs, the WTA star never misses the mark!

Alex de Minaur’s passion for cars, especially his beloved Mini, is no secret! The Aussie tennis star proudly owns a 1973 Mini 850 Deluxe, a true vintage gem. From its charming evergreen finish to its compact, classic design, the car is a real head-turner. But what makes it extra special is the personal touch, Alex added. Reflecting on his journey with the car, he once said, “I got it basically broken down and restored the inside. It’s one of the most fun cars to drive.”

Even during last year’s AO, Alex couldn’t resist showing off his automotive pride. When tennis legend Jim Courier asked him about the car during an interview, the Aussie responded with a grin, “Look at that. That’s just beautiful, isn’t it 😂. That’s my 1973 Mini. It just turned 50 years old last December. We had a big party for it. That’s my daily drive right there.” Now, with what seems to be another Mini added to his collection, the spotlight turned once more, but this time, thanks to Katie Boulter.

A couple of hours ago, Alex de Minaur once again brought a smile to fans’ faces by sharing a playful IG update. Posing on the beach beside his signature green Mini, the Aussie tennis star surprised everyone by standing next to a fresh addition, a classic blue Mini. Tagging the official Mini Classic account, he cheekily captioned the photo: “One more can’t hurt right? 👀😂🤷‍♂️ #doubletrouble #obsessed.” The image sparked waves of excitement across social media, but the real showstopper came in the comments.

The WTA ace Katie Boulter, his fiancée and ever-witty partner, wasted no time in joining the fun. Dropping an eyebrow-raising comment, she wrote: “Sometimes I wonder if you’ll replace me also with a mini one day,” setting the tone for yet another viral moment. Never one to miss a beat, de Minaur responded with a comic twist that echoed their ongoing banter: “Minis don’t make fun of me…” Their fans, of course, were loving every bit of this lighthearted exchange.

Well, this isn’t the 1st time the couple has entertained their followers with their humor. Amidst the well-publicized Madrid power outage, Alex publicized the power cut, prompting a sharp retort from Boulter. Subsequently, Boulter showcased an arduous training regimen via social media, featuring court drills, gym workouts, and intense sprints, culminating in a teammate’s exhaustion. Her caption, “The process. The end 🫣😵‍💫😵,” showed both her grind and comedic flair. Alex’s response? “Three red flag emojis”, keeping their inside joke alive.

And while Alex continues growing his beloved Mini collection, Boulter has been making waves of her own. With her recent campaign as the face of Lexus, it seems the Aussie ace might now just be the ‘Back Seat Bandit’ in more ways than one.
