Alizé Cornet has strong remarks regarding tennis! Not only did the French tennis player reveal her perspective as a professional tennis player, but she also received support from Novak Djokovic‘s wife, Jelena, who has seen the buzzing sporting world. Although the WTA tennis star is about to retire from the sport after the French Open, she has nothing that stops her from sharing her love-hate relationship with tennis.

Recently, in an interview with Tennis Insider, the former 11th-ranked tennis player revealed how “tennis is brutal.” Following that, in no time, the world’s number one ranked tennis player’s wife in no time took to her Instagram to share the video, and agree with her thoughts with the one-word comment, “true.”

In that video, Cornet stated, “So tennis is brutal and I think we can do nothing about it. I think it’s brutal for everyone. The way it’s made, this sport, it’s made to hurt. Sorry, but you’re alone all the time on the court, the decision, responsibility, you miss, you win, you lose, you make a good shot, then you make a fence. The whole thing is a roller coaster in itself.”

Subsequently, the 24-time Grand Slam Champion’s wife clearly resonated with the thoughts of tennis being tough for a player, as they deal with everything in themselves, starting from the results on the court to the responsibilities off the court. However, the 34-year-old also highlighted how the sport is known as a roller coaster ride for anyone who is a part of it.

Not only that, but last year, the WTA tennis star opened up about her admiration for Djokovic. According to Eurosport, she said, “I followed the final with great interest as the great tennis fan that I am. Novak Djokovic is a mutant, you realize more when you are a tennis player. He comes from another planet and I am happy to live in this incredible era of tennis with Roger, Novak and Rafa.”

Not only does the Serb’s wife know her, but a few days ago, her tennis favorite, Rafael Nadal, gave her a very special surprise that made her last few months on the court even more blissful.

When Nadal’s message left Cornet in tears

Announcing her retirement from professional tennis, 34-year-old will leave the WTA Tour after almost 20 years of competition. When French tennis player Alizé Cornet announced her retirement from the game, she was moved to tears by a heartfelt video greeting from her idol, Rafael Nadal.

He said, in the video, “Hello Alize. I just want to congratulate you for an amazing career. I just want to wish you all the very best. Whatever you decide to do in the future, you’re going to be for sure doing very well. But it’s your day, enjoy and all the best for the future.” Her final tournament is scheduled for next month at Roland Garros, a poignant decision as the French Open holds special significance for her as her home Grand Slam.
