Sinner was on the verge of losing his first grand slam final against Daniil Medvedev as he lost the first two sets. But a dedicated mind and skills to accompany it helped him fight for each point and eventually win the title. Medvedev was handed his third Australian Open final defeat. The 22-year-old was congratulated by the former Russian pro in her own unique way.

Sharapova joined the clamor of those who congratulated Sinner on his five-set win against Daniil Medvedev in Sunday’s men’s final by posting a funny video of herself and Sinner singing holiday karaoke on social media. Along with the video, she shared the caption, “I knew that one day you’ll regret this 🤣🤣 Congrats Champ!! patience, poise & class 🏆👏”.

In the undated blooper film, Sharapova and Sinner wear similar reindeer antlers while singing a lyric from the iconic Christmas earworm, “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.”

Tennis stars who lauded Sinner’s win

Several tennis players extended their best wishes to Jannik Sinner via social media. Rafael Nadal wrote on his official Instagram account, Sinner: “Wow, congratulations, Jan. Spectacular tournament. What a great win for you, your team, your family, and your country. Italia.” Novak Djokovic, whom Sinner retired in a dramatic upset in the semifinal, also congratulated the Italian star.

Coco Gauff and Stan Wawrinka both praised the 22-year-old on their official Instagram stories, including a photo of him. Billie Jean King also wrote a message for the player on her Instagram story.
