At the US Open earlier this year, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa, aka “Tsitsidosa,” created quite a stir when they teamed up in the mixed doubles category. The eagerly awaited duo headed to Court 11, which was crowded with spectators, on the third day of the mixed doubles action. Tsitsipas and Badosa put in a strong effort, but in a closely contested match, the seasoned Mexican pair of Giuliana Olmos and Santiago Gonzalez won. However, after the match, Badosa talked candidly about her relationship with Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The Spaniard opened up about how thrilled she was to be partnering with Tsitsipas and how their close relationship improved their chemistry on the court. She stated, “We’re looking forward to it, it’s really nice to share the court together. We spend time off court, but also on court. It’s really special in a Slam. It’s like a dream come true.”

Paula Badosa ‘suffers’ watching Stefanos Tsitsipas play

During a press conference at the US Open in 2024, Paula Badosa spoke openly about the emotional toll of watching her boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas compete. The 26-year-old revealed that while watching each other’s matches, she and Tsitsipas go through a great deal of distress.

She explained, “I think we both suffer a lot. We’re very emotional, and as we say, we love each other so much, and we want the best for us. Of course, we suffer; there are some moments I cannot even watch. It’s tough to follow it because, also, we’re used to being on the court, so we control a little bit of the situation, but from the outside, we can’t do anything.”
