She even gave her opinion about the relationship between two big names in the world of tennis who have been in one of the highly publicized romantic relationships. Martinez was recently appointed as the tournament director for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals, so it’s safe to say that her words hold value.

In her interview, Conchita was asked about her compatriot and former world No. 3 Paula Badosa and her boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek ATP star officially confirmed his romantic relationship in February 2022, though rumors of their relationship went back all the way to December 2021.

“It depends on how they manage the relationship. It can be very positive, because it seems that love is there, and love is good. They both understand perfectly well what they have to do to be up there, and they can push each other to get the best out of themselves.”

She emphasizes that, on top of love, achieving this goal requires dedication and hard work as well. “I have read statements that they would like to win a Grand Slam together …well you have to be willing to work and try to chase your dreams. Love done right doesn’t have to be negative.”

It seems like Conchita’s perspective is that love, when nurtured and maintained in a healthy way, will not hinder their pursuit of success in tennis.
