Patrick Mouratoglou is undoubtedly regarded as one of the most successful tennis coaches in the tennis world today. Serena Williams has lifted 10 of her 23 Grand Slam titles under the leadership of Mouratoglou. Recently, the Frenchman shared his life journey from aspiring to be a tennis professional to becoming a coach.

Mouratoglou feels tennis saved his life. Holding the racket in his hand, the Frenchman felt very confident. Tennis players like Serena Williams, Holger Rune, and many others paid their respect to Mouratoglou in the comments of his post.

Patrick Mouratoglou’s life journey

Mouratoglou’s life has been full of ups and downs. Since childhood, Mouratoglou wanted to become a professional tennis player. Through tennis, he found an escape from the issues that had troubled him when he was young.

Mouratoglou said, “Then I discovered tennis. For the first time, I found a place the tennis court I felt comfortable, I felt powerful, I felt good at something, I felt like I was worth something. Tennis saved my life. Thanks to tennis, Being so passionate about it, I turned my life around and became a very good junior player in France.”

However, due to pressure from his parents, he couldn’t continue his dream of turning into a professional athlete. But Mouratoglou worked hard towards his goal and founded the Mouratoglou Academy in 1996 and then became a tennis coach.

Serena Williams’ and others were touched by Patrick’s story

In addition, the Frenchman stated, “Fast forward 25 years, I have guided many pro players to reach their goals, scouted several of the world’s top tennis prospects, opened multiple tennis center, and coached the Greatest player of all times, Serena Williams, for the last 10 years.”

Soon after, Serena Williams left an encouraging comment on the post; the American wrote, ” I love this!!!! Let’s get back out there.” It seems like Williams is truly inspired by the remarkable story of her coach and wants to get back on the Tour soon.

The Danish No. 1, Holger Rune was also motivated by hearing such a fascinating story as he commented, “respect.” Many other tennis players, like Alex Corretja and Liam Broady, also left their kind words.
