After a 16-month absence, the WTA and ATP tournaments will be held in Beijing. The absence was caused after Peng Shuai, a Chinese tennis star, disappeared.

She had accused a high-profile Chinese politician of inappropriate behavior. After which she disappeared and in the wake of it, the tournaments stopped happening in China.
