After his singles win over Ugo Humbert, reporters inquired Nick Kyrgios how his teaming up with Venus Williams came about. They also told him that she is open to giving him any advice he wants, to which the Australian gave a hilarious response.

“Well, let’s not get this twisted. There was an interview that Venus took, and she got asked, who would your dream doubles partner be? She said, Nick Kyrgios. Look, I am willing to give her any tips she wants. No, no, no, I am just kidding,” he broke out in laughter.

Furthermore, Kyrgios acclaimed Venus as an obvious legend. For this, he explained that while she is still gracing the court and winning at 41, he wouldn’t be able to hit a ball at that age.

He also added that “it is a dream come true” for him to be playing with a Williams sister before they retired.

“I am not sure how long she will play for, so before she gives it up, I do want to experience playing one of the Williams sisters in mixed doubles. They have been around for so long, so long. I think it will be a bit of fun,” Kyrgios added.

“Maybe she can teach me some of that calm, the water-type energy that’s out there. I am going to go out there and have fun. She is an absolute legend of the sport. I am super excited. I can tell she’s excited, too,” Kyrgios said.

“I don’t think she ever thought back in the day she’d be playing mixed doubles with the bad boy of tennis, so we’ll see how it goes,” Kyrgios said.
