Novak Djokovic clinched victory by defeating Marin Cilic at the Tel Aviv Watergen Open. However, that is not the only feat that the Serbian player has achieved this year. He has become the first man to win tour-level titles on all three surfaces this year. WTA player Caroline Garcia congratulated Djokovic for matching her record, as she is the only woman to have achieved this feat in 2022.

Even after being banned from various tours because of his vaccination status, Djokovic has won the title in Israel, adding to his titles secured in Wimbledon and Rome.

The Serbian player defeated the Croatian star, Marin Cilic, to clinch the title in Israel. Not just that, he has set a record of winning tour-level titles on all the surfaces in 2022. The only other player who had this achievement this year is Caroline Garcia.

She complimented Djokovic through Twitter in her own style. She stated, “Not too bad, not too bad.”

The phrase had become viral during Djokovic’s press conference at the Australian Open in 2019. The Serbian legend was mimicking an Italian reporter’s accent.

What is the record held by Garcia and Djokovic in 2022?

Djokovic won his third title in 2022 at Tel Aviv, which is a hard court tournament. Before this, he won the Italian Open in Rome on clay and Wimbledon on grass.

This makes him the only man to clinch this feat even if he has not won a number of titles this year. He has clinched his 89th ATP title by winning at the Tel Aviv Watergen Open.

However, world no. 2, Ons Jabeur, defeated her in the semi-finals of the hard-court major.
