“Reilly Opelka Shot Me Down”: Venus Williams Clarifies on Her Dating Rumors

Venus Williams is one of the most prominent players on the WTA Tour. The American decided to take a much-needed break from professional tennis after Chicago Women’s Open in August 2021. Since then, she has engaged herself more with social media platforms.

While there have been some rumors going around of her dating Reilly Opelka, recently she cleared the air. When a fan asked to speak on dating the ATP player Opelka, Venus gave a funny reply. It seems like the former World No. 1 is currently enjoying her single life.

Venus Williams is not dating Reilly Opelka

Since the beginning of her hiatus, Venus Williams has been actively interacting with her fans. Most recently, she’d put a “Questions” sticker on her Instagram ‘stories section’, and took questions from the audience. From professional life to personal life, fans asked some intriguing questions.

“Are you and Reilly dating?”, a curious fan asked said. Following this question, Venus responded with a hilariously. Venus wrote, ” No @ReillyOpelka shot me down”. There have been already many rumors circulating around Venus and Reilly dating. However, with this clarification, things seems pretty clear.

While taking up the challenge, fans couldn’t keep calm. One more question was raised during the interesting session. ” Who was the other meal for? You said meal for two,” read the question. Venus Williams overwhelmingly replied, ” My moms”. 

Venus is thriving in her passion for cooking, as currently, she has taken a sabbatical from professional tennis. Her last WTA match came at the Chicago Women’s Open in August 2021. Hsieh Su-Wei of Taiwan defeated the former World No. 1 in straight sets in the round of 32.

Since then, she hasn’t given any update on her comeback. However, fans are hoping to see the seven-time Grand Slam champion showcase her skills on the court again.
