Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils have become a stalwart couple in the tennis realm nowadays. Over the years, the couple has captured the hearts of fans with their candid and adorable on-court moments. A similar moment happened during Svitolina’s second-round match at the US Open when she wondered about her husband, who was also playing at the same time on a different court. Monfils reacted to the moment endearingly after he was done with his match.

Though Monfils lost the match against the Russian star Andrey Rublev, he gladly accepted his wife’s concerns amidst her tense match. This gave the tennis realm an adorable moment between the two.

The Ukrainian tennis beauty has left her fans dumbfounded by her astounding performance on the court after her comeback. Only six months after giving birth to her daughter, Skai, she showed her prowess on the court, peaking at Wimbledon.

Once again, as she and her husband Gael Monfils competed at the US Open, she could not help but wonder about him as well. During her second-round match against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, she briefly asked about her husband’s match.

When asked about it later on, Monfils said he had not seen the video yet but he heard about the incident. He adorably stated, “I haven’t seen it. For me, I asked. It was 5-3 for her in the 3rd set… I said to the umpire ‘Be discreet’.”

Monfils then talked about how the couple likes to stay updated about each other. He stated, “We both like to know everything’s going good.”

Furthermore, he added, “She really wants me to play more and to keep winning. So, it’s something she really desires, and of course, it’s really nice.”

Even though Monfils adores Svitolina’s concern and desires, he has his intentions clear in his head. The sport is important to him but there is someone who takes priority in his life.

Since the arrival of his daughter, Skai, the priorities for the French tennis veteran have changed. He has made a comeback to tennis and has continued his grueling run on the court alive in 2023.

However, even then, his mind heart for his daughter rather than tennis. He conveyed that his team and wife want him to keep playing. But every time he spends time with Skai, that is it for him.
