Renowned American actor Ryan Reynolds once vouched for his wife Blake Lively. He asked her to be used as a human shield if and when he would need to protect his kids. However, it is just not Reynolds who has praised his superhuman wife. 14-time Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras also has some similar words for his beloved wife Bridgette Wilson. The two have been each other’s constant for the past 22 years. Her starkly different personality has only complimented the dynamics of their small family.

A very down-to-earth couple who always stayed out of the limelight has raised their two sons majorly out of the limelight. And Sampras vouched for Wilson both as a wife and a mother who has played a crucial role in centering their family.

The couple got married only after nine months of dating in 2000. The two were very clear in regard to what they wanted from themselves and their family. Bridgette Wilson acted in around 30 movies that defined her glorious career on camera. However, she had her priorities set when it came to her personal life. She wanted to be a wife and a good mother and not get distracted elsewhere.

This goal of hers was manifested in her becoming the pillar of her family. In the book, ‘Pete Sampras- Greatness Revisited’ written by Steve Flink, Sampras’ 2019 quotes say a lot about her role in the family.

He praised her centered character in the household and said, “She is the most patient lady I have ever seen.” Talking about her role as a mother, he stated, “She is all in with our kids. She is so nice and sweet and such a good communicator.”

It was not just her. Sampras also did not want to continue his professional tennis career after having kids. In fact, he played his last major at the US Open and won it in 2002. That was just a few days before his first son was born. Sampras announced his retirement the next year.

This means that Serena Williams’ claim that a guy would not have to retire for expanding his family has been proved wrong once.
