Russian-born Kazakhstani tennis star Elena Rybakina‘s sudden withdrawal from the ongoing Indian Wells tournament has left her fans disappointed. Rybakina’s withdrawal was announced right before the second round of the tournament. Many fans who were eagerly waiting for the WTA star to perform at the BNP Paribas Open 2024 were completely surprised at this decision. Sharing the news, this source wrote- “BREAKING: Elena Rybakina withdraws from Indian Wells. Awful news. Elena has been playing some of the best tennis of anyone this year. It would’ve been beautiful to watch her defend her title. Hopefully Lena will be healthy the rest of the year.” 

This news was sudden because Rybakina herself expressed her great enthusiasm to defend her title after last year’s incredible performance at the tournament. This WTA star said about the ongoing Indian Wells- “Well of course I want to repeat it, it’s not gonna be easy but we’ll see much by much how is gonna go but definitely it is one of the favorite tournaments and I want to do well here.”

Raybakina’s statement to withdraw came as a shock to her fans. However, some of them anticipated this since Rybakina had to undergo the same issue during her Dubai Ope 2023. Now that it is repeated, this WTA star’s fans are concerned about her health.
