Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils make a dream team. They always have each other’s backs on the field, one being the biggest supporter of the other. Gael Monfils’ trip to Vancouver was cut short after his loss at the Laver Cup. Adding fuel to the fire was his heated exchange with Felix Auger-Aliassime. All he might have wanted after that was to see his daughter’s face and spend some time with his family. Thankfully, he has a beautiful family to cheer him up and take care of him while he is not having his best days.

Life is a piece of cake for Skai Monfils

Gael, appreciated the efforts of his wife while taking time off from a busy schedule to make what he loves to eat. But, little Skai knew that if her father came back, it must be time for his supermom to leave. Being a professional sports couple includes lots of traveling and a lot more sacrifices. Awaiting Monfils’ return, Svitolina had the sweetest gesture for her husband. She posted a video of herself baking a marbled cake for him, which he appeared to savor towards the end of the clip. But what caught everybody’s attention was an endearing Instagram story uploaded by the Ukrainian tennis star. Featuring a photo of Baby Skai sitting on her dad’s shoulders, Svitolina added a heart sticker to top off the beautiful moment!

Elina and Gael are one of the most adored couples in tennis. They got married on 16 July 2021, and the couple was blessed with a daughter on 15 October 2022. Svitolina once revealed how tough it is for the couple to keep their baby away from them. But considering her age and health, she feels it is better not to take her with them on tours. Face-timing is what keeps them closer on tour days.

Being the daughter of the most beloved and respected tennis players, getting the limelight is obvious. The couple has always had their guidelines set for what’s best for their daughter. They always remember where their priorities lie. Svitolina wants to instill a fearless mentality right from Skai’s childhood and says she must be “Fearless and fight for what she believes in“.

On the other hand. when Monfils was asked about his wishes for his daughter, he responded, ” To be honest, she will do whatever she wants. But deep inside, you know, I hope she pick up something else than the tennis racket: golf, soccer, basketball. But if she wants to play tennis, she play tennis. But inside, I wish she could try another sport, to be honest. But whatever she wants,” he said. The couple always makes sure not to put additional pressure on their child, as she is already born in abundance of it.
