Rick Macci, who taught Venus and Serena Williams, is undoubtedly one of the best tennis coaches any tennis player could ever have. However, recently he received one of the biggest surprise appreciation from Richard Williams, regarding the way he helped nurture Williams’ daughters’ tennis skills. And it’s definitely inspiring!

The American tennis coach and King Richard are quite good friends and even struck up a great friendship the day they met. And since then, decades have passed by, but their friendship remains the same even today.
Rick Macci shares a King Richard message
It’s not the first time the 68-year-old American coach shared the plaudits he received from King Richard, but this one is quite personal and came out as a huge surprise. The former tennis player, who is among the people who nurtured the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s talent, took to his Twitter account to share two pictures of them together. And one of the pictures was from the days when they were young, while the other was a recent picture. With that, he also shared a screenshot of the message shared by Williams’ father for the American coach.

The message read, “Rick Macci, you are a great great teacher and thank you for working my daughter, Venus and Serena. Thank you very much and enjoy your evening.”
It was quite a heart-touching message shared on his personal mobile phone.

The American tennis coach, however, also detailed his special bond with King Richard at one point.
Williams and Macci shared a unique friendship
Last year, the 68-year-old coach spoke about the incredible letter he received from his close buddy. He also discussed their unique friendship, which they had from the start.
While discussing how he coached the Williams sisters, he also revealed how he declined to be a second father to the incredible Williams duo because he was there for them during a very important time in their life.
