The famous American tennis coach, Nick Bollettieri, who once coached well-known tennis players like Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, Serena, and Venus Williams, had a very interesting life off the tennis court. In addition to working as a TV analyst and writing numerous books about tennis, the well-known coach also led a quite chaotic personal life. The late tennis coach did, however, once make a humorous admission about his own personal life.

The legendary tennis coach has been married several times. The last time he got married was in 2004 April to Cindi Eaton. He once jokingly mentioned the number of wives he had.

Nick Bollettieri joked about his personal life

When the fantastic documentary ‘Love Means Zero’ about Bollettieri was filmed in 2017, the tennis legend sat back and talked about his personal and professional life during the filming. There, the late, talented tennis instructor made an odd and witty statement about his wives.

He said, “You got to understand Nick, baby. Nick doesn’t look back, Nick only goes forward. If you asked me right now to give you the names of my eight wives, I couldn’t do it!”. He jokingly added that he doesn’t remember his wives’ names after so many years.

His statement came to light when he was talking about himself. And how he has always looked forward in terms of coaching young talents to turn out to be winners. Not only that, but he also made a proud statement about his Academy. He added that they have won nearly a hundred and eighty Grand Slam titles. Moreover, he was not aware of the scientific dynamics of the game and the ethics most of the coaches knew.

Bollettieri put his academy over his children

Bollettieri was the fourth coach to be honored for his coaching in the International Tennis Hall of Fame. He worked ceaselessly until about 2014. However, there was a point when the illustrious coach spent almost 36 weeks on the road away from his wife, Eaton and 8 kids.

Notably, the late 91-year-old tennis coach acknowledged that he prioritizes his academy over his own children. He even stated that he would be viewed as a cruel person, but he would not have found pioneers if he had stayed at home.
