But Roger Federer recently announced that he will retire from professional tennis as well. After the news spread like wildfire, Serena Williams took to Instagram to commend the glorious career of the Swiss Maestro. She left him a heartfelt message expressing how he has been an inspiration for millions around the world.

Federer and Serena have always shared a camaraderie between them since their early days in the tennis circuit. Both legendary players started dominating their respective tours around the same time, in the early 2000s.

The 23-time grand slam champion recently retired after playing her last grand slam tournament, the US Open. It was an emotional ride for the player as well as her fans. However, she was not ready to bid farewell to her friend and tennis legend, Roger Federer.

Williams took to Instagram to hail the player and stated, “I wanted to find the perfect way to say this, as you so eloquently put this game to rest – perfectly done, just like your career.” She expressed her admiration for the player. “You inspired countless millions and millions of people – including me – and we will never forget,” she said.
