Wimbledon is a tournament which has long-standing traditions. Grass courts, white outfits, and strawberries and cream are a few of the practices that are still active in SW19. Along with these three, the Centre Court also houses a ‘Royal Box’ which seats members of the royal family of the United Kingdom. While the tradition still stands, recently, a relative of King Charles was denied a seat in the Royal Box.
On day four of Wimbledon, viewers tuned in to the action of the most prominent grass tournament. Since day 1, several stars from around the world have come to witness the glory of the championship. Jessica Alba, David Beckham, and more have arrived to watch the match. Unlike the others, the member of the Royal Family had a bad experience.

Arriving at the stadium to watch the matches from Centre Court was Flora Vesterberg, third cousin of King Charles, along with her husband, Timothy Vesterberg. However, the daughter of Princess Alexandra was denied entry into the royal box.
The matter instantly became a question in the media. But Dickie Arbiter, former press secretary of Queen Elizabeth, clarified what transpired, reported by the Express UK. He told Hello!, “The Wimbledon organisation makes so many tickets available to Buckingham Palace, some of them are in the royal box, some of them are in prime seats within centre court and those are distributed on a ballot basis.”

Arbiter further explained that filling up the royal box is the decision of the organizing committee of the tournament. If a royal wants to watch a match, the committee will be informed in advance. Otherwise, they decide who they want to invite. Arbiter also said that she can go on other days as well, and they will plan accordingly. But the seating plan is completely up to them.
“She might well go on other days as well and her office will alert Wimbledon to the fact that she wants to go and when she will go, and Wimbledon will do the seating plan accordingly, leaving the sort of front row seats available. But Wimbledon likes to fill up the rest of the seats with celebrities and they don’t have any difficulty doing that.”
