WTA Finals witnesses something unusual

During the semifinals in at the WTA Finals in Singapore where the American, Sloane Stephens was playing the Czech player Karolina Pliskova wherein the semifinals of the event. The Singapore citizens amongst the crowd happen to do something unusual. Mr Adrian Chia happens to propose his girlfriend, Ms Hana Zaljska in the midst of the WTA semi-finals.  Zalejska was perhaps unhappy with the Czech player’s loss to Stephens in the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas WTA Finals Singapore. However, her evening happened to be rejoicing. After her boyfriend Chia proposed to her after the first set at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The 26-year-old Zaljska represented the Czech junior team in tennis. While Chia, who works for a bank got hold of tennis about four years ago. “I was very nervous because she had no idea about this at all. We were first here (at the tournament) in 2016. And we didn’t make it here last year because she wasn’t in Singapore then”, Chia said. “This year, she managed to be here, so I thought since this is the last year that it’s going to be held in Singapore, I might as well try and see if I can pull it off. She thought it was a kiss cam (at first) but the kiss didn’t come… then I stood up and got on my knee and she realised it was a proposal.” The crowd in the stadium cheer for the happy couple in Singapore.

Chia and Zalejska, have been in a relationship over the past three years. Since Zelejska lives and studies in Taiwan the couple in a long-distance relationship. The spectators at the stadium congratulated them. “I was super surprised, I didn’t expect it at all… it feels good (now). It was a nice thought and original idea,” said Zalejska.
