While speculations went wild, Badosa cleared the air on the matter, which also ran through the mind of a reporter. As she sat down for a post-match interview after losing to Sabalenka in straight sets, Badosa was asked if she and her friend coordinated the outfit in mourning. The Spaniard replied, “No, no, not at all. It was a coincidence. Nike’s outfit.”

The match between the two players began with a dominant show from Sabalenka, which continued in the second set. The Belarusian beauty ended up winning the bout 6-4, 6-3, and will move on to play against Anhelina Kalinina. Badosa had initially said that she was talking to her throughout the entire process and felt uncomfortable facing her but respected her decision to compete.
