As the 18-year-old American player, Coco Gauff is giving her 100% to win her first Grand Slam title. Seeing her dedication and determination, the tennis veteran, Pam Shriver, who won 22 Grand Slam titles in her entire tennis career, shared a piece of clear advice for the 18-year-old.

The 60-year-old tennis player reached her first major final as a teenager aged 16. But then faced a drastic fall after reaching her first Grand Slam final and winning tournaments. She had to endure defeats against tennis giant Chris Evert.

In an interview with the WTA, the former doubles world number one tennis player praised the 18-year-old tennis sensation. She described her as an exceptional tennis player who will undoubtedly win many titles during her tennis career. While talking about her American tennis star’s capability, she issued a warning, explaining that Gauff should slow down for a bit and work on herself.

She said, “I know how it is to burst onto the scene, the expectations it creates. There are simply no guarantees of anything – nothing.” Just like the American tennis sensation, Shriver, after reaching her first Grand Slam final, faced defeat for the next 8 Grand Slam tournaments.
