Talking about how she got the inspiration, Williams said, “Michael, Michael Jordan. I think he really was able to do branding in a different way. And the aplomb that he has walking around, it is just second to none.”

Along with being the most marketable athlete during her playing days, the American tennis legend pocketed millions out of her massive sponsorship deals. However, money was never the motivation for her to succeed in her life. She changed her viewpoint of success and went on to set higher goals that kept her feet grounded. She said, “My starting point was I just wanna win championships and I wanna have fun. I want to be a great tennis player and quite frankly I wanted to win a Grand Slam. Honestly, for me everything else was a bonus.”
