Serena Williams’ childhood coach has played a big role in shaping her future. The former world number one has done her initial training in the Rick Macci training academy. It’s one of the biggest tennis training academy today. Recently, legendary boxer, Mike Tyson, visited the academy with his daughter.

Macci has given professional coaching to both the Williams’ sister after their father, Richard Williams did. He was also one of the few people to see the passion in Serena Williams’ eyes to be the number one tennis champion.

Mike Tyson visits Rick Macci Academy

Mike Tyson’s younger daughter Milan had a clear interest in tennis since her early days. She recently participated in the Battle of Boca that took place in the former tennis player’s academy and on the other hand, her father took some tennis lessons from the American coach..

The American tennis coach took to twitter to share the insights of Mike Tyson’s visit to his academy. He even compared how boxing and tennis are similar in a way. He wrote, “Tennis and boxing very similar. One on one. Need unreal footwork. Using a racquet to hurt your opponent instead of a glove.You hit and react.You need light feet.You need unreal anticipation. You are in a ring.”

The legendary boxer also learnt some lessons at the academy and did better than Williams. The former tennis player said, “Gave a lesson to the iconic Mike Tyson and his punch volley was better than @Serenawilliams!”

Tyson is an ardor tennis fan, he is often seen enjoying the tennis matches. However, his daughter’s interest in the sport made this boxing champion a true fan of tennis.

Her one of the reason for choosing tennis is the person who has revolutionized the game, that is the former world number one, Serena Williams. She once recalled that meeting Williams was the greatest moment in her life.
