Serena Williams‘ husband Alexis Ohanian, who recently made waves in the world of golf, was paying close attention to everything that went on during and after the event.

The tech entrepreneur and investor took to Instagram and sent two-word message to Fowler for his kind gesture. After all, what Fowler did undoubtedly moved Ohanian, who himself needed a lot of motivation to move on from a personal tragedy that shellshocked him 15 years ago.

As the 2023 US Open was heading towards its conclusion, the cameras captured Fowler talking to Clark for a brief moment. During the trophy presentation, Clark’s emotions got the better of him. He expressed that he felt like his mother was watching over him. Clark’s mother passed away in 2013 following a battle against breast cancer. Following Clark’s victory, Fowler faced questions from the press regarding his exact words to the 2023 US Open winner on the 18th green.

Fowler’s answer showed how much he cares for his colleagues even though they’re his fierce competitors. “Your mom, if she’d been here – she’d have been very proud.”

How did Alexis Ohanian’s mother’s death affect him?

For any child, irrespective of the age, losing a mother is never easy. The same proved to be the case for Alexis Ohanian as well. Ohanian’s mother passed away in 2008, leaving a massive void in his life.

A few days ago, Ohanian comforted Angel City FC fan and actress Ashley Marie Lewis. At the time, Marie Lewis tweeted regarding her mother, whose health complications forced her to abandon their plan of watching Angel City FC live in action. Thankfully, Marie Lewis’ mother recovered, which allowed Marie Lewis to hatch another plan. Ohanian told Marie Lewis that his mother’s loss back in 2008 “was a defining moment” for him. He went on to express his happiness for Marie Lewis. Furthermore, Ohanian thanked her for her choice to support his co-owned women’s soccer team.
